Unfortunately not. Sometimes people use their cars, or a quiet corner, or an empty part of the pub. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Do you do takeaways?

Yes. Introduced during lockdown, but still requested, we will happily serve your meals as takeaway. Unfortunately we are unable to deliver. Payment on collection or in advance on ordering. We may have to decline during busy periods. Due to the nature of beef, Alan is not happy to sell the beef roast this way.

Can I leave my car in your car park over night

Yes. However please let us know beforehand. Vehicles are left at owner’s risk.

Bookings

Do I have to book?

Tables of 1 to 8 people are easy to accommodate and can just walk in, but we do prefer bookings, because a lot of the food is freshly prepared and we would prefer not to run out of anything.

Do you take bookings online?

We prefer bookings to be made over the telephone (0118 947 3908). Preliminary enquiries can be either by phone or email. We do pick up answerphone messages often and will call you back as soon as possible.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We ask for a deposit of £5 per person for funeral receptions, and £10 per person for tables of eight people or more. A deposit of £100 pounds will hold the date for a private function. This is refundable on the day, unless someone dining doesn’t show up within 7 days notice. For funeral receptions a full refund is always given.

Do I need to pre-order?

We ask tables of eight or more, and dinner parties to pre-order, simply for speed and efficiency. Alan is the only chef, with 1 to 2 assistants helping.
